Congratulations! Winners of the Dickens of an Art Contest have been chosen. Everyone did a fantastic job, and we appreciate your participation. All the art pieces will be posted on the second floor of the IMAX 3D Theater at Moody Gardens.

The following are the winners broken down by grade:

Kindergarten – 2nd grade:

Each winner will receive two tickets to Disney’s A Christmas Carol as well as a penguin encounter for themselves and three guests. 

The contest deadline has passed. Look for future events and contests on our  Web site.

Create a poster showing your favorite scene from the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol.  Posters can be created using any medium; your imagination is the limit!  Artists must be in Kindergarten through High School to be eligible to participate.

Winners will be selected in four categories:
•    Kindergarten – 2nd grade
•    3rd grade – 5th grade
•    6th grade – 8th grade
•    9th grade – 12th grade

Submission

All entries must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, 2009.  Late entries will not be accepted.  Entries may be dropped off at the second floor Operator’s Desk in the Visitors Center between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily or they can be mailed to:

Prizes
The top winner in each category will receive two tickets to Disney’s A Christmas Carol, showing at Moody Gardens and a Penguin Encounter!  Tickets to Disney’s A Christmas Carol are only valid at Moody Gardens through January 2, 2010.  Tickets may be redeemed at any ticket window.  Tickets are non-transferable.  The penguin encounter will be for the winner and three guests and must be scheduled in advance.    

All participants will receive one free ticket to Festival of Lights, valid through Jan. 2, 2010.  Ticket may be redeemed at any ticket window.  Tickets are non-transferable.

Posters will be judged by special guest judges on Dec. 12, 2009.  Winning entries will be posted online. All entrants will be displayed in the IMAX® 3D Theater lobby through Jan. 2, 2010.  Posters may be picked up from the Operators Desk in the Visitors Center from 8:00am-5 p.m. between Jan. 6 and Jan. 20, 2010.  Posters not retrieved by Jan. 20, 2010 will be recycled.
